The Didache The purpose of this show is to outline what the Didache is and why it is of importance to Christians today. It was lost for many centuries and was not rediscovered until 1873 by Philotheos Bryennios who had it published in 1875. It is a non-canonical text and is considered to be deviate of the Christian writings known as the apostolic Fathers. Tony Jones describes the Didache, in his writings The Teaching of the Twelve: Believing and Practicing the naif Christianity of the old-fashioned Didache Community as an early handbook of a unsung Christian community. The Didache can be described as a set of guidelines or principles that Christians should follow in dress to hold their faith.
